Seine Twine warp yarn

Price range: € 19,95 through € 29,95

The Seine Twine warp yarn is also known as ‘fisherman’s yarn’.
Despite its fineness, it is a strong, durable, hard-wearing yarn.
We offer this warping thread in
2 thinknesses: 6 x 30 tex and 15 x 30 tex
and 3 colors: ecru, beige, black

The ‘Seine Twine’ warp yarn is made of 100% cotton and comes in ecru, beige and black. We offer this warping thread in 2 thicknesses:

6 x30 Tex en 15 x 30 Tex.

‘Seine Twine’ is an umbrella term for extremely strong, durable yarn that is resistant to tension and wear.

Because it does not shed, the warp threads can lie very close together without interfering with one another or generating static electricity, which would otherwise make weaving very difficult.

06-ply 30:

one cone contains approx. 2,600 metres of yarn

To get a realistic idea of the yarn’s thickness: if you lay 15 threads neatly pressed against each other, you have a width of 1 cm.

15-ply 30:

one cone contains approx. 1,000 metres of yarn.
To get a realistic idea of the yarn’s thickness: if you lay 10 threads neatly pressed against each other, they will be 1 cm wide.

This is perfect for a 8 warping sett, or 3 threads per cm.

This thickness is used in many online courses, such as the ‘Introduction to Tapestry Weaving’ by Liz Whiteside.
